Truly Nolan’s best film to date. This was an absolute triumph for his style and historical dramas generally. There was so much to absorb I can not do it justice after a single viewing. My first impression was that the costume design was very memorable and I could see their attention to detail. The climax of film with the use of the atomic weapons was haunting and provoked a strong emotional response from me. I will need to see this again and think more deeply about the total significance of those scenes and the messages the film has to convey about the use of the atomic weapons further. For the time being I am thrilled that a movie like this could be made and that is it is receiving such good press.
