Excellent examination of the second Klan as a social and fraternal movement and the shifting politics of the 1920s. This is a great follow up to Terror in the Heartland for anyone who wants a little more academic approach to explaining the phenomenon. I quite enjoyed the conclusions attempts to compare right wing authoritarian movements across space and time, something we need more of in the literature I think.
