Despite being an earlier work by Tuchman from the late 50s, I couldn’t notice. Her characteristic warmth and narrative weaving ability is all here in a nice little package. The intersection of the 1910 Mexican Revolution and the First World War is a really under-discussed topic so I was so happy to find this book. It’s not long, so a couple week jaunt through 1916-17 was very enjoyable.
